It doesn’t seem to matter if it’s Lowe’s, Walmart, or Amazon, the shopping self-talk is the same: keep the main thing the main thing. Otherwise, of course, the “cart” will eventually kill the bank account. On one level, who can keep from being distracted by the cool riding mowers outside Lowe’s? That’s why they are there, isn’t it? Thinking I’ll be safe once inside the store, I am faced with so many things I didn’t realize I needed, and which I suddenly can hardly imagine life without. The riding mower distracts; the grills inside dilute. What did I come here for? Oh yeah, light bulbs… In the life of believing… there is a difference in a believer and a disciple. A disciple follows the One who is teaching them. Discipleship is much more than one trip to an altar, one prayer, and a quick dip.
